Founded by Comme des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo, the London concept store Dover Street Market is a real institution. Known for its eclectic selection and its support of emerging labels, many designers owe it an important part of their success, such as Gosha Rubchinskyi and Molly Goddard (whom we already talked about here). A rather unique place, defined by its CEO Adrian Joffe as "a beautiful chaos", where Adidas caps rub shoulders with Gucci lace shirts.
The original store, which has since opened counters in New York, Tokyo and Singapore, is about to celebrate its 15th anniversary. For the occasion, DSM — as its fans call it — is launching a series of collaborations with no less than 60 different brands. Named MONOCHROMARKET, each of them will reinvent its most iconic classics in this theme.
It thus calls on names from all walks of life, from Vans to Raf Simons, Dr Martens, Lacoste, Paco Rabanne and Valentino. In short, a mix of luxury and more affordable prices, which should satisfy all budgets. The only disadvantage? Half of the items are exclusively available at the address located near Picadilly Circus. Besides, the other one is online since this morning on the e-shop version. So, grab your credit card... •
